Chapter 4: “Transition”

The Recordings for This Chapter

Chapter 4 has two classes as source recordings:  213A and 229A.  In our tape group session, we heard recording 229A, from the 1958 London Open Class, titled “Tenth Chapter of God – I Am Come.”  We are offering recording 213A, “Questions and Answers on the Mystical Life and Healing,” from the 1958 Second Chicago Closed Class, as a study option (see below).

Recording 229A was posted through October 31, 2020, and is no longer available on this website.  If you subscribe to the Joel S. Goldsmith Streaming Service, you will be able to listen to the recording there.  The optional study material for this chapter will continue to be available here on the Goldsmith Global site.  To purchase recording 229A and/or the transcript from The Infinite Way Office, click here.

Optional Study Suggestions

1.  The Second Source Recording for Chapter 4

For optional study, we posted the second source recording for this chapter.  It is Recording 213A, from the 1958 Second Chicago Closed Class, with the title “Questions and Answers on the Mystical Life and Healing.”  This recording was posted through October 31, 2020, and is no longer available on this website.  If you subscribe to the Joel S. Goldsmith Streaming Service, you will be able to listen to the recording there. To purchase recording 213A and/or the transcript from The Infinite Way Office, click here.

We heard this recording during our study program “About Body.”  At that time, we offered a summary of the class.  Should you wish to review that summary, click/tap here.

2.  Practices from Chapter 4

Remember that Chapter 4 is a Monthly Letter from Joel, and we can continue to follow his encouragement to “pick out the pearls” in the Letter and practice them.   For example, this is one practice of several in the Letter that certainly will be beneficial to all:

“We have been given God-given dominion over everything there is, not by conscious thought, but by letting the body rest back in the I and then letting the I take over and govern it without any conscious thought on our part. We never have to tell the body what to do: we do not have to tell our heart to beat; we do not have to tell our digestive or our eliminative organs how to function; we do not have to tell any part of our body anything. We release the body into the I which is Consciousness, or God, and then let It function the body, for It is the infinite intelligence of the universe, and therefore It created this body and has the power to maintain and sustain it—if we release the body into It.”

3.  Relevant Question and Answer from Joel

The Question and Answer from Joel posted on August 15, 2020 is a good complement to Chapter 4.   It is a bit lengthy, but well worth the time to read it.
