World Work in Joel’s Words – December 2018

The following excerpt is from Recording #519, Side 2, from the 1963 Kailua Private Class, “From the Metaphysical to the Mystical.”

I myself do not know whether the vision that I have lived with for over thirty years will come true, or whether or not it will come true during my span here, and that is that spiritual power, the activity of the Christ, will change the human situation on earth.  I have been given no word within whether or not I will witness that. …

This that I am telling you is for this purpose: so that you may give more and more and more of your time and attention to world work, but always remembering that your world work is not for the purpose of stopping wars or stopping disease or stopping accidents.  The nature of your world work is that that mind which was in Christ Jesus be the mind of man, because when it is, man has in his mind no sin, disease, death, lack, or limitation, no need to war individually or collectively.

An individual who has the experience of what they call “conversion,” but which we call “realization;” no longer lies, cheats, or defrauds because the capacity no longer exists in their consciousness.  That mind which was in Christ Jesus is the mind that loves its neighbor as itself, and therefore could not wrong its neighbor; would rather sacrifice its own life that the neighbor’s life might be spared; would rather sacrifice its own supply that the neighbors may have something.
